Battles Therapy & Consultation

I am an Independent Clinical Social Worker (licensed in Nebraska and Virginia). My private practice, Battles Therapy & Consultation, is located in Lancaster County, Nebraska, but I serve clients via Telehealth to expand my reach and impact. I have earned national Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification and am studying to become a nationally certified Play Therapist. I began my career in victim services as a Victim Advocate in the Violent Crime Unit at the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Norfolk, Virginia. Most of my career has been spent in Children's Advocacy Centers, first in Norfolk, Virginia, at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, Child Abuse Program, at Sunflower House in Shawnee, Kansas, and at BraveBe, Child Advocacy Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. In addition to my experience as a trauma-informed mental health therapist, I am a nationally trained Forensic Interviewer, a founding member of the United States Navy, Mid-Atlantic Regional Child Sexual Assault Team, and developed one of the first Child Advocacy Center Family Advocacy programs in the Midwest. Having a child close to you experience abuse, neglect, or exploitation brings a tidal wave of emotions, questions, confusion, and grief. My experience means that I understand what others may not.
